Rancho RS9000XL Adjustable Front Shocks

Upgrade your suspension with the Rancho RS9000XL Adjustable Front Shocks, designed to deliver improved ride comfort, handling and performance both on and off-road.

The Rancho RS9000XL features a 9-position adjustable damping system, allowing drivers to fine-tune their suspension to suit different driving conditions, vehicle loads and personal preferences.

With an easy-to-access adjustment dial located at the base of each shock absorber, compression and rebound damping characteristics can be adjusted while the shocks remain fitted to the vehicle.

Important Suspension Information

Front shock absorber travel on these vehicles is limited by the factory Independent Front Suspension (IFS) design and its associated components.

These shocks are suitable for vehicles with a 2–3 inch suspension lift, however, increasing the vehicle's stationary ride height does not increase the available suspension travel.

The shocks are designed to utilise the available suspension travel, including on vehicles fitted with supporting modifications such as ball joint flips, spacers and differential drops.

Longer Travel Option – 425mm

A longer 425mm extended-length shock absorber option is also available. However, Modified Explorer does not recommend this option due to the increased risk of suspension and driveline damage.

The additional shock extension can place excessive stress on suspension and steering components, particularly at full droop. This increases the likelihood of premature wear or damage to components such as CV joints, CV shafts and steering arms, potentially resulting in costly repairs or component failure.

For this reason, we recommend the standard 382mm extended-length option to maintain more appropriate suspension geometry and reduce unnecessary stress on associated components.
